"We say to you to the dear Advent, see the first candle is burning..." On the four Sundays before Christmas, we light one candle each on the Advent wreath - one more every Sunday. Until Christmas Eve, many candles are lit on the Christmas tree. The room is bright and warmly lit. And we may celebrate it: Jesus, the Son of God, was born as light for the world, as light for our lives.
