The new GLC Coupé is available with electrified powertrains. The mild-hybrid units feature a second-generation integrated starter-generator (ISG) and a 48-volt partial onboard network. The integrated starter-generator of the mild-hybrid versions particularly supports the combustion engine at low speeds. Combined with turbocharging, this ensures excellent power delivery. The 48-volt partial onboard network system enables hybrid functions such as 'sailing' with the engine off, boosting, or recuperating. This increases efficiency. Additionally, the engines start very quickly and comfortably with the help of the ISG: The start-stop function is almost imperceptible to the driver. Three other engine variants are plug-in hybrids. These offer a practical range in purely electric driving mode. The enhanced hybrid program prioritizes the electric driving mode for the most suitable sections of the route. For example, electric driving is prioritized on routes in urban areas. Whether petrol or diesel: As plug-in hybrids, all models are very efficient and exceptionally dynamic.
