The new Honda Civic Type R - The most powerful VTEC turbo in Type R history

Since the launch of the first generation in 1997, the Civic Type R has been known for its powerful, responsive and high-revving engines. The latest version also embodies the pursuit of high performance that has made the Civic Type R so popular with fans and drivers for 25 years. The new Civic Type R is powered by a revised 2.0-liter VTEC four-cylinder turbocharged engine that incorporates several motorsports technologies. These improve power, torque and responsiveness - even beyond the capabilities of the weight-optimized Limited Edition version of the previous model. The turbocharger has been modified and now works even more effectively. By reducing the number of impellers and optimizing their shape and diameter, inertia within the unit has been reduced. The redesigned housing shape is smaller and more compact than its predecessor, contributing to the turbocharger's higher performance and better response.
