Hyundai Motor Group has unveiled its new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), a dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV) platform. Revealed online today during an ‘E-GMP Digital Discovery’ event, the platform will serve as the core technology for Hyundai Motor Group’s next-generation BEV line-up. From 2021, the E-GMP will underpin a range of dedicated new BEVs, including Hyundai Motor Company’s IONIQ 5; Kia Motors Corporation’s first dedicated BEV to be revealed in 2021; and a series of other models. Designed exclusively for BEVs, E-GMP provides various advantages compared to the Group’s existing platforms, which have each been engineered predominantly to accommodate internal combustion engines. Benefits include increased development flexibility, powerful driving performance, increased driving range, strengthened safety features, and more interior space for occupants and luggage.

Porsche takes the new 911 GT3 off the leash. The seventh edition of this high-performance sports car was also developed in close collaboration with Porsche Motorsport. It transfers pure racing technology into a production model even more consistently than ever before: the double wishbone front axle layout and sophisticated aerodynamics with swan neck rear wing and striking diffuser originate from the successful GT race car 911 RSR and the 375 kW (510 PS) four-litre six-cylinder boxer engine is based on the drivetrain of the 911 GT3 R, tried and tested in endurance racing. The acoustically impressive, high-revving engine is also used practically unchanged in the new 911 GT3 Cup. The result is a brilliant driving machine: efficient and emotional, precise and high-performance – perfect for the circuit and superb for everyday use.

Volkswagen brought the new Arteon to market last Autumn, and with it an additional body variant: the new Arteon Shooting Brake. Now the powerful top models have been added, and their key data is impressive: acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, an optional increase in maximum speed to 270 km/h, plus permanent all-wheel drive with the sophisticated R-Performance Torque Vectoring technology, which distributes power individually between the rear wheels and enables even higher cornering speeds. The exclusive R colour Lapiz Blue is available for both body variants. The high-performance braking system with blue brake callipers and R logo and the distinct front air intakes not only look good, but also enhance performance. The suspension is tuned for a sportier drive, and the DCC adaptive dampers can be steplessly adjusted using the touchscreen in the cockpit.
