Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva visits former Argentine president Cristina Kirchner, who is under house arrest, in Buenos Aires. Lula is participating in a summit of the regional Mercosur bloc, his first visit to the country since libertarian President Javier Milei took office in December 2023. Kirchner, the standard-bearer of the Argentine left for over two decades, was convicted of "fraudulent administration" while president between 2007 and 2015.
