Motor home caught fire at service area

Hockenheim: Apparently due to a technical defect, a motor home caught fire at the Am Hockenheimring-Ost service area on Sunday morning shortly before 10:00. It is possible that the battery in the trunk of the motor home was the cause of the fire. According to the fire department, the driver behaved in an exemplary manner; he had the presence of mind to remove the two gas cylinders from the vehicle. The fire could be extinguished by the fire-brigade fast. There was considerable property damage to the motor home. No one was injured.
