Swiss defending champion Giuliana Werro wins Engadin Ski Marathon

On Sunday, March 10, 2024, more than 11,000 athletes from 67 nations started the 54th edition of the Engadin Ski Marathon, the second largest cross-country skiing event in the world and the largest cross-country skiing event in Switzerland. At 8:15 a.m., the race began in the village of Silvaplana (Upper Engadin), leading athletes through the picturesque Engadin. The 40 km marathon course takes runners across frozen lakes, past typical Engadin villages, and through a unique winter landscape to S-chanf. From the leading group of men, Norwegian Magne Haga is able to pull ahead during the race and claim victory. His countrymen Thomas Bucher-Johannessen (NOR) and Filip Fjeld Andersen (NOR) follow him onto the all-Norwegian podium. Places 4 to 6 go to Switzerland: 4. Dario Cologna (SUI), 5.
