Polestar 2 receives better Euro NCAP Assisted Driving rating

In the latest round of AD (Assisted Driving) ratings by Euro NCAP, one of the world's leading institutions for driving safety testing, the Polestar 2 was rated "good". Euro NCAP's Assisted Driving rating is a relatively new and independent initiative that began in 2020 to evaluate driver assistance features. In the first AD test in late 2021, the Polestar 2 was rated "average," coupled with the comment that only a minor improvement was needed for a "good" rating. Following a software update for the Polestar 2, the rating was upgraded as non-critical concerns raised by Euro NCAP during the initial test were addressed. The Euro NCAP AD rating is currently still a separate rating and not included in the 5-star overall safety rating for the Polestar 2. This overall safety rating was published in March 2021. At that time, the Polestar 2 was the best electric car ever tested by Euro NCAP according to the latest protocols - and was now only slightly outperformed by the much larger and more expensive Mercedes-Benz EQS.
