New Lexus NX - A new concept for the interior

Source: AutoMotoTV (Glomex)

In the new NX, Lexus has implemented the new Tazuna concept for cockpit design for the first time. The Japanese term describes how a rider guides his horse with the reins. The aim is to give the driver direct and intuitive control of the vehicle, in line with the principle of "hands on the wheel, eyes on the road." One example of intuitive control is the steering wheel buttons, which can be assigned to the driver's preferred functions. When the button is used, its shape appears on the head-up display so the driver does not have to look down at the steering wheel. The cockpit sorts itself around the driver from the driver's door to the center console. All sources of information - the multimedia screen, the multi-information display, the instrument cluster, the central displays and the (optional) head-up display - are arranged so that they can be read with as little eye and head movement as possible. The same principle is followed by the arrangement of the controls: the start button, gearshift, climate control and drive mode switch are all located within the range of a continuous arm movement, making them easy to reach and operate.
