Two plug-in hybrid drive variants are now available for the CUPRA Formentor. The Spanish automotive brand is thus continuing to drive forward the electrification of its model range and, with the two performance levels of the e-HYBRID powertrain in the CUPRA Formentor, is once again demonstrating that electrification and sportiness complement each other perfectly. This model in particular, which combines the advantages of a sports car with the qualities of an SUV, is perfectly suited to the optionally 150 kW (204 hp) or 180 kW (245 hp) and always efficient combination of TSI combustion technology and powerful electric motor. Both models meet the criteria for hybrid electric vehicle subsidies and are already listed with BAFA. This results in a price advantage of 7,177.50 euros, and company car users also only have to pay monthly tax of 0.5 percent of the RRP. In addition to the performance data, the two models also differ in terms of equipment. Compared to the 150 kW model, the 180 kW CUPRA Formentor VZ e-HYBRID comes with, among other things.
The new Toyota Highlander starts at prices from 53,250 euros in Germany. The 4.95 meter long family SUV comes with seven seats as well as hybrid and all-wheel drive as standard. Customers can choose from three equipment lines and extensive accessories for further customization. The Business Edition as an entry-level version already offers many amenities: In addition to heated and electrically adjustable front seats, there are also 18-inch alloy wheels, parabolic LED headlights with automatic high beam, tinted rear and rear side windows from the B-pillar, a reversing camera, an infotainment system with an eight-inch display and smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a wireless charging cradle for smartphones as standard equipment.
The CUPRA Formentor is about to take to the streets of the world. But some have already had the privilege of driving it including the CUPRA development team led by SEAT executive Vice-president for R&D Dr. Werner Tietz, along with CUPRA Technical Officer Marta Almuni and CUPRA driver Jordi Gené. The following are their impressions at the wheel of the brand’s first uniquely designed and developed model.
