The new Land Rover Defender is a five-star car: this has now been independently confirmed for the completely newly developed generation of the British all-wheel drive legend. In the Euro NCAP test, the new Defender 110 received the maximum rating of five stars for crash safety and occupant protection. This makes it not only the first premium full-size off-roader to achieve the maximum five-star rating under the latest Euro NCAP test protocol, but also the seventh Land Rover model to receive the top safety rating in the current decade. The new Defender has everything a safe car needs: an extremely sturdy aluminum construction coupled with state-of-the-art safety features and assistance systems. This means that the robust Briton is not only equipped for all challenges on and off the road, it also offers maximum protection in the event of a fall. The sophisticated helpers on board the Defender include emergency brake assist, lane departure warning and a rear collision warning system. Furthermore, six airbags protect driver and passengers in the new Defender, while up to three ISOFIX attachment points provide perfect support for child seats. In the independent tests of the latest Euro NCAP program, this adds up to five stars for the new Land Rover Defender - broken down into 85 percent for the protection of adult passengers and children, 79 percent for the supporting safety systems and 71 percent for the safety of vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians or cyclists.
