Ready for payment: flat-rate energy allowance to students

Starting today, students and vocational and technical school students can apply for the €200 flat-rate energy allowance. The German government has set up an online portal for this purpose. To kick things off, there was a digital waiting room on the site due to high demand before it was redirected to the application process. The prerequisite for payment is enrollment on December 1 of last year at a university or vocational school. More than 400,000 people across Bavaria are eligible for the money. The corresponding law on the one-off payment was passed in December.
