City of Vienna puts together 13 million euro apprenticeship package

Corona pandemic shows massive impact on labor market. 173,013 Viennese were unemployed or in training in March. This corresponds to an unemployment rate of 14%. The number of employed has recovered slightly in recent months and stands at 855,600, a good 2,000 below the figure for March 2019. The main people affected by the crisis are older unemployed people as well as young people. 23,859 15-24 year olds are unemployed or in training. In this age group, unemployment remains more than 9% above pre-crisis levels.
