One of only 33 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale cars built is going to American Glynn Bloomquist. The entrepreneur from Texas visited Bottega Alfa Romeo in the Milan suburb of Arese to configure the Italian super sports car according to his personal preferences. For the color scheme, he chose Rosso Villa d’Este combined with a white front section - a tribute to the Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 factory racing cars from the 1960s. Building on these experiences, he also turned his attention to the major European brands in racing. Alfa Romeo and Ferrari impressed him the most, being unique in the world due to their sporting history and typical Italian design. While reading a book about Enzo Ferrari (1898-1988), Bloomquist discovered the connection between Ferrari and the Alfa Romeo brand. In the 1920s and 1930s, Ferrari worked as a factory driver, test driver, and eventually as head of the racing department for Alfa Romeo. This story transformed Glynn Bloomquist's initial vague interest in European motorsport into a real passion that led him to purchase some vehicles from Italian brands.
