Decline in Hop Harvest by 28%: Extreme Weather Conditions Cause Failures

The German hop harvest was 28 percent lower last year than in 2021. This decline accounted for more than half of the global losses and was described as the strongest slump in the post-war period by BarthHaas, the world's largest hop dealer. Despite this drastic decline, beer drinkers need not worry for the time being, as there are no shortages expected due to high inventory levels. In the past three years, significantly more hops have been harvested than consumed, so there are currently sufficient stocks available.
