Maypole tip in Eckarts broken off - fire department in action

After the strong thunderstorm in the afternoon, the fire department had to go out on Sunday evening also to the maypole in Eckarts near Immenstadt. The strong wind of the storm low, brought the top on the over 25 meters high maypole of Eckarts to fall. "Exactly at the point where the top was attached, it also broke off," said a volunteer of the Eckarts fire department. Held only by the railings, the top hung at a lofty height and then had to be secured with the turntable ladder of the Immenstadt fire department.
