Thunderstorms in Allgäu - hailstorms and flooded garages in Füssen!

The first thunderstorms have moved over the Allgäu in the afternoon, as announced by the German weather service. A storm front hit Füssen with full force. The fire department was there in use because garages and also a supermarket ran full of water. The lightning strikes in the east of the Allgäu could be seen from far away. A thunderstorm front also moved eastward over Wertach, bringing hail with it. The hailstones were as large as a one euro coin. They came down along the Grüntensee and in Füssen. Streets looked like after a snow shower, small streams overflowed. Traffic at Grüntensee only moved at walking pace, cyclists had to seek shelter under bus shelters. The police have not yet been able to provide any information about the operations and damage in Füssen.
