New Opel Astra with Intelli-Air - For the best interior air quality

The new Opel Astra and the new Opel Astra Sports Tourer keep the air clean. On the outside, highly efficient drive technologies ensure the lowest possible emissions - and inside, effective purification mechanisms such as the new Intelli-Air system allow all passengers to breathe healthily. All the more important now that the hay fever season has already begun again for millions of allergy sufferers. With Intelli-Air, the new Opel Astra has an intelligent, particularly effective air quality system on board. It combines the highly effective air and particle filters with a monitoring system. Intelli-Air constantly monitors the air quality in the passenger compartment and - in the event of poor air quality - ensures automatic air exchange. The air quality is regulated by the position of the recirculation flap. If the outside air is poor, an AQS sensor on the car ensures that the flap closes, preventing pollutants from entering the vehicle cabin. If, on the other hand, the air quality inside the vehicle is polluted or not optimal - for example, due to smoking or dust on clothing - the flap opens to supply the passengers with fresh air.
