Van life is booming. Over the past years, Mercedes‑Benz Vans has successfully established itself in all motorhome categories with its base vehicles, and with the new Citan, which has been available to order since mid-September, the brand with the three-pointed star has laid the foundation for further growth. The new Citan allows Mercedes‑Benz Vans to make the most of the versatile possibilities in the increasingly popular micro-camper conversions sector. This will be demonstrated shortly by SORTIMO Switzerland at the Suisse Caravan Salon in Bern, starting on 28 October. SORTIMO Switzerland will be presenting the new Citan with a roof tent and a multifunction box equipped with a kitchen and bed unit at the Mercedes‑Benz exhibition stand. And there are further conversion solutions based on the new Citan on the market, for instance from VanEssa mobilcamping. The increase in popularity of micro-campers has a number of reasons: they are comparatively cheaper in terms of acquisition costs; their often modular conversion concept enables flexible installation and removal; thanks to their compact exterior dimensions they are easy to operate; and their weight of under 3.5 tonnes means they can be driven on a regular category B driving licence. With qualities like these, micro-campers have an increasing fan base, especially among young van lifers.
Honda’s next-generation Civic Type R has set a new lap record for a front-wheel drive car at the world-famous Suzuka Circuit in Japan. It lapped the 5.8km track in 2 minutes 23.120 seconds*, 0.873 seconds faster than its predecessor, the stripped back 2021 Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition. The new benchmark time was set during the new model’s final development evaluation on 15 March 2022. The all-new Civic Type R is the latest performance vehicle to prove itself on the iconic Suzuka International Racing Course, famous for its high-speed chicanes and challenging corners. The track, often described as one of the world’s greatest circuits, has been a test bed for performance Hondas since 1962 and has been home to the Japanese Formula 1 Grand Prix for all but two years since 1987.

All three revised versions of the A110 line-up are characteristically Alpine, and each has its own distinctive character and purpose. They are as light and agile as any car with an Alpine badge and come with a four-cylinder 1.8-litre turbocharged engine, paired with a Getrag seven-speed automatic gearbox with a dual wet clutch to deliver the iconic Alpine experience. The entry-level model, the A110 features the Alpine chassis and a 252hp engine offering similar driving characteristics to the original Berlinette – it is light, lively and precise, and delivers an agile and vibrant drive on all roads. The New Alpine A110 GT is the range’s Grand Tourisme sports coupe. With 300hp and renowned Alpine chassis, it strikes a fine balance between performance and comfort. Versatile and elegant, the A110 GT is a sports car perfectly suited to everyday and long-distance driving, as well as more involved drives on twisty roads. The New Alpine A110 S sits at the top of the revised range, focused on performance with 300hp and a unique Sports chassis. Optional semi-slick tyres and a new custom-made aerodynamic body kit brings enhanced thrills, precision and enjoyment – especially on track.
