The Volkswagen ID. LIFE - The exterior design - the shape shapes the character

Source: AutoMotoTV (Glomex)

Crossover proportions reinterpreted. The design of the ID. LIFE sets clear priorities in the areas of sustainability and digitalization. The design already shapes the character of the five-door short-tail vehicle for the small car segment. Powerful proportions and reduced complexity lead to a reinterpretation of the appearance typical of crossover models in this vehicle class. The monolithically designed body has no ornamentation or add-on parts, thus already underlining the sustainable character of the vehicle concept. The clear structure of the exterior is also enhanced by the horizontal division between the vehicle body, glass surfaces and roof. The front hood and roof are made of a two-layer air chamber textile, which is attached to the body with zipper fasteners and can be removed if necessary. This innovative solution gives the ID. LIFE a special design accent and includes the option for individually selectable patterns and color schemes. The lightweight roof with its air chamber elements allows open-air enjoyment in the style of a Targa model and not only protects against the weather, but also reduces vehicle weight.
