Summons of Taylor Swift in Baldoni-Lively case withdrawn

The legal team of Justin Baldoni has withdrawn the subpoenas against Taylor Swift and her lawyers after Swift's team referred to them as a "fishing expedition." Blake Lively's spokesperson called the subpoenas "harassing" and stated that Baldoni had tried to exploit "Swift's fame" to divert attention from the actual issue of the case. Swift's team labeled the subpoenas as "tabloid press" and emphasized that she had no role in the movie "Just One More Time" or its production. Baldoni's team claimed that a person close to Swift had said Lively's lawyer threatened to disclose her private texts if Swift did not publicly support Lively. Lively's lawyers denied the allegation, stating it was "clearly and demonstrably false" and had no relevance to the legal dispute. A judge later struck these claims from the record, and Swift is no longer involved in the case. Baldoni and Lively have been embroiled in a legal battle since December 2024 when Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment. Baldoni denied the allegations and countersued Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist. The trial is scheduled for March 2026.
