Forest Fire with Fatalities: Commemorating the 1975 Disaster in Lower Saxony

In 1975, a fire disaster kept the fire departments in Lower Saxony on their toes. Around 8,000 kilometers of forest burned for days. The emergency services couldn't get the flames under control. Six firefighters and a police officer died. At a memorial event on Sunday, the tragic event was remembered. Witnesses from that time were also present.
