Atomkraft demand due to AI usage

A single query to the AI software ChatGPT consumes as much power as about one second of oven operation, according to the developer company OpenAI. The water consumption per query is one-fifteenth of a teaspoon. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman explained this in a blog post, as reported by the German Press Agency. For years, there have been warnings about escalating power needs with broader use of artificial intelligence applications. Among others, Microsoft, Google, and Amazon are now planning to rely on nuclear energy in the USA. This is intended to help meet the energy demand without correspondingly increasing the emission of the climate-damaging carbon dioxide.
