United Nations relief chief Tom Fletcher on Tuesday called on the UN Security Council to take action "to prevent genocide" in Gaza, after Israel announced its military was resuming "full force" operations in the Palestinian territory. "For those killed and those whose voices are silenced: what more evidence do you need now?" asked Fletcher in a briefing where he detailed Israel's "inhumane" actions in Gaza to the council. "Will you act -- decisively -- to prevent genocide and to ensure respect for international humanitarian law?" SOUNDBITE

"It's really working out incredibly well," says US President Donald Trump, speaking at the signing ceremony for a declaration meant to cement a ceasefire in Gaza. Sitting alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Trump says "we're really representative of a whole group of nations," before gesturing to the world leaders seated behind him and adding "they are among the most powerful countries in the world, the richest countries in the world."
