Up to 500,000 euros in property damage after cellar fire in Edingen-Neckarhausen

Edingen-Neckarhausen: High property damage occurred in the late afternoon around 4:00 p.m. when a fire broke out in a residential building on Fichtenstraße. The residents were able to evacuate unharmed. According to the fire department, the cellar of the building is said to have completely burned out. Smoke penetrated through the windows and the staircase to the upper floors as well. After about 30 minutes, the emergency services, who had arrived with 8 vehicles, were able to report "fire out". Due to the enormous smoke development, the remaining floors are currently likely uninhabitable. The fire department estimates the damage at 300,000 to 500,000 €. After-extinguishing work continued into the evening hours. The cause of the fire is still unclear. The criminal police have started the investigations.
