The trend for holiday home vacations among German holidaymakers in 2025 shows a clear development towards more individuality, sustainability, and flexibility. More and more Germans prefer independent accommodations to design their vacation according to their own ideas. Particularly popular are regions that offer nature experiences, peace, and privacy, such as the North Sea, the Baltic Sea, the Alps, or rural areas in Germany and Europe.
Not a bird, not an aeroplane. It's a flying man that we are talking about! Meet David Mayman, the Australian jetpack pilot and manufacturer! When he was 12, David Mayman dreamt of flying and attempted to build a helicopter using fence posts and an old lawnmower. His experiment was unsuccessful, but after years of work, things have changed! He is now the inventor, pilot, and, finally, the manufacturer of a jetpack, in other words, a rocket belt. In 2015, Mayman achieved his first flight around the Statue of Liberty using a jetpack of his design. Mayman's other aerial appearances include Sydney and Dubai. With the company he founded in 2016, Jetpack Aviation, Mayman helps other people who want to fly to fulfil their dreams. But Mayman's aviation adventures do not end there. The Speeder Applying his jetpack design expertise, Mayman is experimenting with a new machine, the Speeder, which resembles a flying motorbike. The Speeder, which travels straight up in the air like a motorbike, is also small enough to fit in the back of a pickup truck. Info Text Animation: The Australian inventor's new project is a flying motorbike called "Speeder." Mayman is one of many people working on flying machines. Engineers around the world have developed hundreds of aircraft projects. But there is something significant that distinguishes Mayman's invention from the others. Instead of a battery-powered electric motor, the Speeder will fly on four small jet engines that burn liquid fuel. The technology used by the Speeder is quite old. However, Mayman decided it was the most effective when he considered the requirements of the American army he was working with. The military wanted a vehicle that could carry a payload, move quickly, and allow its users to learn quickly. Liquid jet fuel stores 20 times more energy than batteries, and jet engines are much easier to control the flight angle. So, the Speeder will be a vehicle that can carry a certain weight and move quickly simultaneously. Info Text Animation: It can both carry heavy loads and move fast. Speeder's flight control systems work with artificial intelligence, so flying will become easier.
Conservation Scientists have discovered two dwarf giraffes in Africa. The two giraffes, named Gimil and Nigel, were spotted in Uganda and Namibia by Conservation Scientists working with the Giraffe Conservation Foundation and The Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute. Gimil, a nubian giraffe, was first observed in 2015 at Uganda's Murchison Falls National Park. Researchers noticed the male had disproportionate limb dimensions. The team returned to the park over the next few years to take photos and measurements as he grew, Gimil was last observed in July 200, when the last images and measurements were taken. Nigel, an Angolan giraffe, was living on a private farm in Namibia and was also monitored over the course of a few years. The team found that the smaller girafffes had shorter legs than their counterparts, the pair also exhibited shortened fore-limbs to varied degrees and had different neck lenght. Due to the giraffes living past the age of one year, the team are confident the condition should not impact their survival rate.
