Researchers at Harvard University have found that the time we eat dinner can have a significant impact on digestion, sleep quality, and weight control. Experts recommend that dinner should ideally be consumed between 5 and 7 pm. Those who do this typically burn more calories and have a more restful sleep than those who eat later. Eating early helps the body adjust to the natural circadian rhythm, which regulates important functions like metabolism, digestion, and hormone release. Eating too late can have undesirable consequences, such as increased appetite, hormonal dysregulation, and changes in daily energy expenditure. The lead author of the study, Nina Vujović, says: "We found that delaying a meal by four hours has a significant impact on hunger, post-meal calorie burn, and fat storage. Choosing an earlier dinner gives the body more time to metabolize the food."
