Sand is one of the most consumed resources worldwide. It is used not only in construction but also in solar panels or toothpaste. Sand is in high demand. Even in Germany. For example, 30,000 tons of it are needed for one kilometer of highway, according to the WWF. Some of it could even come from Middle Franconia in the future, more precisely from Röthenbach near Altdorf. Right from the Reichswald. Not everyone agrees with the megaproject.
