Facial strips against blackheads: benefit or harm?

Source: VIDEOELEPHANT (Glomex)

Pimple strips in various forms are often used to remove blackheads by applying them to the skin and peeling them off once dry. Although some feel that their skin is cleansed afterwards, pimple strips can cause more harm than good. The quick peeling can not only remove sebum residue, but also the top layer of skin, which can lead to skin irritation, redness and inflammation. This in turn can lead to the pores producing more sebum and clogging more quickly. Dermatologists advise against removing blackheads yourself and recommend alternative methods such as special preparations or peelings for treatment. Dermatologist Dr. Yael Adler advises chemical peels, i.e. products containing the retinoid adapalene and benzoyl peroxide or azelaic acid
