Patagonia: New section at Miniatur Wunderland

After four years of construction, 50,000 hours of work and around two million euros, the latest section at Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg opened on Wednesday: Patagonia. The model railroad takes visitors past the glaciers of South America, right through the middle of the world-famous Torres del Paine National Park, all the way to the Drake Passage at the southern tip of Argentina. The strait between Antarctica and Cape Horn is known among sailors as the most dangerous strait in the world. On 65 square meters, the model builders of Miniatur Wunderland have once again outdone themselves. The track network is 353 meters long through endless expanses and a spectacular - recreated - landscape.
