Strawberry season started in Schleswig-Holstein

On Monday, the strawberry season officially starts in Schleswig-Holstein: The price per kilo is between 12 and 13 euros this year, according to the Chamber of Agriculture. Early varieties like Flair, Alegro, and Glorielle are already ready for harvest. This is made possible by foil tunnels: they protect the fruits from cold winds and ground frost. By the end of May, the outdoor strawberries will also be ready for harvest. Self-pickers are allowed in the field from early June.
