According to an international study by Bertelsmann, Germany ranks second to last when it comes to digital health care. But it seems that the market is slowly starting to move – thanks to a number of new regulations and laws. This means the digital patient file is a done deal and the prescription app is also coming. But data privacy should not be neglected.

It would have once again been the world's largest trade fair for medical technology - the Medica in Düsseldorf. Content of the trade fair: devices for medical imaging, devices for therapeutic purposes and, last but not least, Covid-19 in focus: laboratory technology. However it turned out differently: the organizers of the trade fair and the manufacturers of the high-tech exhibits could only come together virtually - the understanding for this was most probably nowhere greater than in the community of the medical industry - and therefore the first virtual MEDICA and COMPAMED was a huge success.
