The strawberry season actually starts at the end of May, but more and more traders are bringing the strawberries to the market earlier through foil or greenhouses. This is a problem for the Tensmann nursery from Oer-Erkenschwick, because their strawberries only grow in the open field. Sales are sluggish this year - many are now full of strawberries
