Ferrari 296 Speciale - the body

The design language of the 296 Speciale shows clear references to closed Ferrari race cars. While the 296 GTB hides its extreme performance under an elegant shell, the 296 Speciale opts for a significantly more radical design language to highlight the innovations realized by the Ferrari engineers externally. The front of the 296 Speciale leaves no doubt about its high performance and distinctive expression from the world of racing at first glance. The hood appears strongly curved: a result of the contrasting positive and negative surface effect achieved by omitting volume. The character of the lower area is defined by a "floating" splitter: a wing-shaped element in body color that visually widens the front of the vehicle and makes it appear firmly anchored, creating space for larger air intakes. The design of the 296 Speciale is extreme, showcasing the ability of the radiators to intake enormous amounts of air and emphasizing the dynamics and lightness of the model.
