The F80 is the product of a creative design study. It prompted the team at the Ferrari Centro Stile design center, under the direction of Flavio Manzoni, to radically change the brand's visual language while creating a connection between the history and future of Ferrari design. The study aimed to integrate many different elements of the brand's design language and DNA, focusing initially on the aesthetics of Ferrari F1 race cars to determine the direction for a model with a modern, innovative visual identity - a model that offers enough space for both driver and passenger while still providing the uncompromising driving experience of a single-seater.
Nissan Sunderland Plant is marking the start of production of the third generation Qashqai with a renewed pledge to inspire future generations of manufacturing talent. Following a £400m investment, the latest version of the segment-defining crossover is now rolling off the plant’s production Line One, as the plant celebrates 35 years of manufacturing in the UK. Qashqai represents one in five of all cars built in Britain since its launch 14 years ago – and to celebrate the new generation model, Nissan is offering every schoolchild in North East England the opportunity to take part in a Nissan Skills Foundation event – the company’s programme of activities designed to excite youngsters about careers in manufacturing and engineering.
Volkswagen is also setting the course for the future when it comes to model names: with a new naming strategy that also transfers the familiar designations of combustion-engine models to its all-electric ID. family. Volkswagen will transfer more established names to the electric portfolio with each new model generation. At the same time, all vehicles with conventional drives will continue to run under their previous names. With this strategy, Volkswagen is bringing together the electric and combustion engine worlds, helping customers navigate the brand’s product range more easily in the future.
