The new Mercedes EQS SUV - equipment highlights DIGITAL LIGHT and head-up displays

DIGITAL LIGHT headlamp technology (optional equipment) enables innovative functions, such as the projection of auxiliary markings or warning symbols onto the road. Other equipment highlights include head-up displays, available in two sizes. The large augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD) shows relevant information and actions three-dimensionally in the real driving situation. The technology of DIGITAL LIGHT and AR-HUD is familiar from video beamers. DIGITAL LIGHT has a light module in each headlamp with three extremely powerful LEDs whose light is refracted and directed with the aid of 1.3 million micromirrors. The micro-mirrors are housed on the surface of a thumbnail. A control unit with a powerful graphics computer generates a permanent video stream to the mirrors via an HDMI-like connection.
