The technical regulations of the Rally2 category provide clear guidelines in various areas of the technical development. For example, the aerodynamics of the new generation ŠKODA FABIA Rally2 widely depend on the road car’s configuration. The best-in-class drag coefficient of the production ŠKODA FABIA gave the engineers of ŠKODA Motorsport the perfect foundation to develop highly efficient aerodynamics for the future rally car. Efficient aerodynamics are one of the most important areas while developing any kind of race car. In Rally2 category, competition variants have to be derived from production models. Thus, engineers face completely different challenges than, for example, their colleagues in single seater racing. When ŠKODA Motorsport began the development of the new generation ŠKODA FABIA Rally2, the respective road car model provided a perfect starting point. The engineers‘ goal was to use the outstanding aerodynamics of the road going ŠKODA FABIA as well for the competition car.

The new era of technology on which Audi has embarked can also be experienced in the interior of the Q4 e-tron and the Q4 Sportback e-tron. The instrument panel introduces itself with progressive elegance and underlines the airy feeling of spaciousness. The cockpit features a distinctly three-dimensional design, and its geometric volumes are interrelated in an electrifying way. In both the electric SUVs, the operating and display units take on the function of design elements more than ever. The digital instrument for the driver is embedded like a diamond between two volumes – a short one on the left-hand side, which incorporates an air vent, and a long one on the right-hand side. It extends all the way to the front passenger door and integrates further air vents. The central MMI touch display, which appears clean and light, occupies the space in front of it. It is tilted toward the driver and is positioned within ergonomically easy reach. A lean inlay, known as the tech layer, lies above the display and connects it with the instrument panel. The choice of surface materials for this panel includes open-pore lime wood, aluminum in two different designs, and plastic. The inlay in the S line interior will also be available as an alternative shortly after market launch with an innovative, anthracite-colored technical fabric that is made partly of recycled materials.
“The CUPRA Formentor VZ5 delivering 390 HP is a car that you have to feel when you drive it.” CUPRA development driver Jordi Gené was closely involved in the set-up of this exclusive model, of which there will only be 7,000 units. A car born on the racetrack to transmit each sensation to the driver, with attention to every last detail. Even its CUP Bucket seats are inspired by the world of racing. This is how they were developed. Inspired by the racetrack, the new CUP Bucket seats designed exclusively for the Formentor VZ5 conform to race car aesthetics. “The seat is the driver’s first contact with the car; it’s responsible for transmitting the sensations of the road and with these CUP Buckets the emotions are fully conveyed” says CUPRA’s CTO Marta Almuni. The centre bezels that crown the backrest and the carbon fibre rear side are some of the details that give these seats a clearly sporty style.
