Brazil experienced an unprecedented heatwave over the weekend. Large parts of the country are on high alert for health risks due to the above-average temperatures. On Sunday, temperatures in Rio de Janeiro rose above 40 degrees Celsius, but meteorologists said it felt like 60 degrees Celsius due to the soaring humidity.
