On Monday 13th August, TV Presenter, Journalist and now BBC Radio 5 live host, Laura Whitmore, spent the day at Stylist HQ, taking over the website to launch her 'Speak up with Laura Whitmore' campaign, in partnership with Stylist. The idea came about after Laura Whitmore shared her harrowing #MeToo story in a powerful and shocking essay, which made a lot of people sit up and pay attention. Her shattering story sparked such a huge debate around the general objectification of women by men and the media - that Stylist knew, then and there, that hers was a voice to be amplified. Enter, Stylist Presents - Speak up with Laura Whitmore! On Monday, she arrived for the 9am ideas meeting, working alongside the Stylist team of female writers to shine a light on the day’s most important headlines, challenge the status quo, spark debate, encourage conversation and, most importantly, champion women’s voices. And shine a light she did, with her carefully curated selection of empowering content, generated throughout the day.
