When Jesus left his disciples on Ascension Day, he promised them a helper. The Holy Spirit. In the Acts of the Apostles, we are told that the disciples thereafter gathered in the upper room to pray with Mary and the women (Acts 1:12-14). It was the same upper room where they had already celebrated the Last Supper with Jesus before his crucifixion (cf. Lk 22:12).
