Rosie O'Donnell calls Jeff Bezos' lavish wedding "disgusting"

Comedian Rosie O'Donnell has referred to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's recent wedding in Italy as a "disgusting excess" in a post on her Substack newsletter. "The BEZOS wedding turned my stomach. To see all these billionaires gathering in their gross excess. Is Oprah friends with Jeff Bezos? Really - how is that possible? He treats his employees with disdain. By all standards, he is not a nice man," said Rosie O'Donnell. The wedding took place in Venice, with many high-profile celebrities in attendance, including the Kardashians, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, and Leonardo DiCaprio. O'Donnell also targeted Sánchez, calling her Bezos' "fake fembot woman" and mocking her appearance with before-and-after photos. O'Donnell compared Sánchez to Bezos' ex-wife MacKenzie Scott, writing, "Why would he choose her after Mackenzie is the salt of the earth?" She further criticized the guests for posing in designer outfits while ignoring global crises, calling it "worthless performative nonsense." O'Donnell argued that society had become desensitized to extreme wealth and celebrity culture, accepting the "worship of celebrities" as normal. O'Donnell, who has been living in Ireland since the 2024 US elections, concluded the Substack by stating that "something is wrong here. That cannot be denied."
