SPD catapults Bas with dream result into party leadership - Klingbeil punished

Four months after the historically poor performance in the federal election, the SPD has newly appointed its party leadership. The delegates of the federal party congress in Berlin elected Federal Minister of Labour Bärbel Bas with a dream result of 95 percent as the new co-chair alongside Vice-Chancellor Lars Klingbeil. He was severely punished and received only 64.9 percent.
