US Vice President JD Vance has warned international visitors to the 2026 World Cup not to overstay their visas. Vance stated that football fans will be held accountable by the Minister of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, who is nicknamed 'ICE Barbie,' if they do so. At the first meeting of the World Cup Task Force, Vance said that while fans are welcome to attend, they must leave after the tournament ends. 'Of course, everyone is welcome to come and see this wonderful event. We want them to come, we want them to celebrate, we want them to watch the games. But when the time is up, we want them to go home,' Vance said. Noem, known for her participation in ICE raids under President Donald Trump's mass deportation plan, stated that visa processing for the World Cup in preparation for 2026 is already underway. Trump, along with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who also attended the meeting, said the tournament could serve as a 'good incentive' for Russia to end the war in Ukraine. Infantino confirmed that due to the ongoing conflict, Russia remains excluded from FIFA competitions. Additionally, Andrew Giuliani, son of Rudy Giuliani, was appointed as the head of Trump's Task Force for the 2026 World Cup.
