The SuedLink breakthrough: How Germany's power future is secured!

Source: MHOCH4 – MOVING COMMUNICATION (Glomex)

The first cable for SuedLink is being laid in Heeslingen, Lower Saxony. This cable is intended to transport green electricity from northern Germany to the energy-hungry south in the future. The SuedLink cables are laid in open trench construction. Where no trench can be excavated, for example when rivers or railway lines need to be crossed, the so-called horizontal directional drilling method is often used. In total, 2,420 kilometers of cable will be laid in the coming months and years - the construction is scheduled to be completed by 2028.
