Floods: Firefighter dies in rescue operation in Bavaria

During a rescue operation in the heavily flooded Upper Bavarian district of Pfaffenhofen, a firefighter lost his life overnight. The 42-year-old member of the volunteer fire brigade reportedly died after a rescue boat capsized near the villages of Affalterbach and Uttenhofen, which were surrounded by the floods.
