Already the current generation of the Yaris has an extensive active and passive safety equipment. Now Toyota is introducing additional and improved safety features that further enhance the Yaris' leading position in safety. Under the umbrella term Toyota T-Mate, advanced assistance systems are bundled that make driving safer and easier and facilitate parking - foremost among them the latest generation of Toyota Safety Sense, which detects common accident risks, warns against them, and provides targeted braking and steering assistance to the driver if necessary. If accidents cannot be completely avoided, at least their severity is mitigated. Toyota offers advanced technologies in the Yaris as standard, which are often only available at an additional cost or not at all in other models of the B-segment. Thanks to the new Data Communication Module (DCM), over-the-air software updates are also possible. This allows Toyota Safety Sense and the new Yaris multimedia system to be updated and expanded without the need to take the vehicle to a workshop. The software can be downloaded during the journey and installed at a convenient time for the driver.
