The two petrol engines available for the new BMW X5 for China are from the new modular generation of BMW Group Efficient Dynamics engines and now feature 48-volt mild hybrid technology. Their power is delivered by both units as standard via a new 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission and the intelligent all-wheel drive BMW xDrive. The electrification of the drives results in a particularly spontaneous response to every movement of the accelerator pedal when starting off or during intermediate sprints. Together with the enhanced BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, it also increases the efficiency of the engines.

Clad in a sharper design that reflects its sporty yet robust character, the sixth-generation Forester stretches to 4.67 meters in length. Occupants enjoy plenty of space in the front and rear with a 2.67-meter wheelbase. There are also many features that make both short and long journeys particularly comfortable. Dual-zone automatic climate control and heated front seats are standard, as are a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, a multi-information display, a rearview camera, and an audio system with an 11.6-inch touchscreen, DAB+ digital radio, USB ports, six speakers, and smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A Qi charging cradle charges your smartphone wirelessly. Safety is ensured by the enhanced Eyesight system, which combines various assistance systems such as emergency braking, active lane keeping and lane control, stop-and-go assist, and multinational traffic sign recognition. A driver detection system that warns of drowsiness and distraction, as well as radar-based lane change, blind spot, and rear cross-traffic assist are also on board. The Subaru model is powered by a 100 kW/136 hp 2.0-liter boxer gasoline engine, assisted by a small electric motor. The standard e-Boxer mild hybrid system improves responsiveness and fuel efficiency. Power is transferred to all four wheels by the continuously variable Lineartronic automatic transmission.
At the world's largest auto show in Shanghai, BMW is showcasing a first-class driving experience with the BMW Vision Driving Experience. The high-performance test vehicle, developed based on the BMW Vision New Class, will be on display for the first time in its unmasked form at Auto Shanghai 2025. Inside is the lightning-fast Heart of Joy control computer, which, in conjunction with the BMW Dynamic Performance Control software stack, centrally calculates all driving dynamics functions. In Shanghai – unlike later in the series – it will be visible in the center console of the BMW Vision Driving Experience. The BMW Vision Driving Experience was specially designed to challenge the Heart of Joy to the limits of driving physics. The first fully electric New Class vehicles will roll off the production line at the Debrecen plant in Hungary at the end of the year. The Heart of Joy central computer, which ensures a new level of precision and driving dynamics, will be installed as standard in every New Class vehicle.
