The new Nissan Qashqai - New platform

The new Nissan Qashqai is the first model in Europe to use the CMF-C platform. The newly developed vehicle architecture is also crucial for driving dynamics: it results in around 48 percent greater rigidity compared with the previous model generation. Suspension and damping can thus be better tuned and adjusted, improving precision and responsiveness and reducing vibration. Despite the increased rigidity, the new Qashqai is around 60 kilograms lighter than its predecessor, thanks to the increased use of lightweight materials. Nissan has extensively modernized its production plant in Sunderland, UK, to stamp the hood, doors and front fenders from an aluminum alloy. As a result, the crossover model presents itself as efficient and agile as never before.
