Return to 19 percent VAT not viable for DeHoGa

Fonte: SAT.1 NORDDEUTSCHLAND (Glomex)

In order to relieve the gastronomy sector because of the Corona crisis, the German government reduced the VAT on food in restaurants from 19 to 7 percent in 2020. However, this was only ever intended to be temporary. Now the VAT is to be raised again. For the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DeHoGa), however, the resulting additional costs are probably not sustainable. Restaurateur Andreas Tedsen from Lütjenburg is afraid that the tax hike will cause him to lose guests.
