The world-famous singer, actor and activist Harry Belafonte has died at the age of 96. His longtime spokesman told The New York Times on Tuesday. Belafonte died Tuesday at his home on Manhattan's Upper West Side, he said. The US-American made his breakthrough in the fifties and achieved worldwide fame through his music. According to his spokesman, Belafonte died of heart failure.
